This months edition features an article with Nick Matthew discussing the evolution of squash training from the days of Jahnagir Khan, Geoff Hunt and Jonah Barrington to the present. Matthew explains that sport science has enlighted players to train in a smarter manner, yet there is still no substitute for good old fashioned hard work (it just doesn’t only involve sprinting around a 400m track until you drop!)

There is a reflection on 2009, the year that saw Ramy Ashour crowned world no.1, and a look back at the tournaments that the Egyptian won along the way. As well as a mention of his rivalry with Nick Matthew and how close the Englishman came to the number one spot himself…

Matthew’s win at the British Nationals last month, along with his victory in Sweeden are analysed. Not to forget James Willstrop’s triumph in New York, nor the women’s tour where Alison Waters won the British Nationals and Jenny Duncalf enjoyed a hugely successful 2009…

An article on Nicol David talks about the great pressure from back home that comes with being such a dominant figure in women’s squash…

Finally a look ahead at what to expect from 2010…
